IIheus, Brazil
We arrive to IIheus on March 8th. IIheus is an old Portuguese colonial settlement. Most of Brazil's cacao is grown here. I was lucky to purchase the small chocolates they sell in this town in one of the few stores open on Sunday. The beautiful church you see in my photos was not open, even though it was Sunday. The town was colorful and I imagine if we arrived on a weekday would probably have been quite lively. We walked around the city, then sat at a local cafe and had lunch while listening to live music, compliments of the cafe.
