Punta Del Este, Uruguay

This was our first time to Punta Del Este in Uruguay and we were pleased to find this very nice beach city. This was our first tender port on the cruise and the tender dropped us off on a long pier close to a long wooden beach walk. It was very nice, but it was also very hot. We took our time walking along the boardwalk and all the way to the marina with restaurants and shops. We had lunch at a marina restaurant and just took in the views as we enjoyed just being on vacation. Punta Del Este has a pedestrian street called Gorlero Avenue which we strolled as well and stopped for delicious ice cream. Why does ice cream taste better in foreign countries? I think because it's fresh and natural, which is difficult to find in US supermarkets.

This is the long pier the tender dropped us off at.
